Whoever observes the fast during the month of Ramadan, (while) believing in Allaah and seeking His rewards, will have his past sins forgiven.
-The Prophet Muhammad Said
There are the five pillars of islam. Fasting is one of the main pillars of Islam.
Fasting during the month of Ramadan is essential for every muslim if he/she is healthy and not travelling at fast time.
And for women they must not fast if they are menstruating or having post childbirth bleeding.

What breaks fast during Ramadan?

Eating or drinking

If we eat something while fasting due to forgetfulness or by mistake then fast is still valid but if we choose to eat or drink for some reason then ramadan fast will become invalid.

Vomitting

Same as above if we vomits unintentionally then we can continue fast but if we vomit for some reason then the ramadan fast will become invalid.

Sexual Intercourse

If someone has sexual intercourse while fasting during ramadan then he/she must perform kaffaarah. Kaffarah means fasting continuously for 60 days or if one has unable to perform kaffaarah then he/she must feed 60 poor people.

Menstrual or Childbirth Bleeding

The fast becomes invalid during menstrual or post-childbirth bleeding. Even if such bleeding begins just before sunset, the fast of that day is invalid and the day must be made up at a later time.

All these things which we mentioned above are agree by all Islamic scholar nevertheless there are still more action in which many scholars are not agree.

Permissible action during ramadan fasting

  • Taking shower due to any reason
  • Rinsing the mouth and nose (using too much water may lead us to swallow and may invalidate our fast)
  • Applying eyeliner or eyedrops
  • Taking injections for medical purposes
  • Accidental consumption, if something accidentally enters our mouth then it does not means that our fast is invalid
  • Tasting food with tongue, we can taste food as well or can use toothpaste or mouthwash during fast but nothing must be swallowed.
  • Kissing spouse, its permissible to kiss or embrace your spouse if you can control yourself.
  • Drawing blood, it is also permissible to draw blood for any reason but if it weakens the person then it will be considered as a disliked action according to islam
  • Being in state of Janaabah, your fast will still be valid even if you find yourself in a state of janaabah (a major ritual impurity) after fajr (dawn) has arrived. Ghusl (a full bath) can still be performed once the time of fajr has begun.
