There are the five pillars of islam. Fasting is one of the main pillars of Islam.
Fasting during the month of Ramadan is essential for every muslim if he/she is healthy and not travelling at fast time.
And for women they must not fast if they are menstruating or having post childbirth bleeding.
What breaks fast during Ramadan?
Eating or drinking
If we eat something while fasting due to forgetfulness or by mistake then fast is still valid but if we choose to eat or drink for some reason then ramadan fast will become invalid.Vomitting
Same as above if we vomits unintentionally then we can continue fast but if we vomit for some reason then the ramadan fast will become invalid.Sexual Intercourse
If someone has sexual intercourse while fasting during ramadan then he/she must perform kaffaarah. Kaffarah means fasting continuously for 60 days or if one has unable to perform kaffaarah then he/she must feed 60 poor people.Menstrual or Childbirth Bleeding
The fast becomes invalid during menstrual or post-childbirth bleeding. Even if such bleeding begins just before sunset, the fast of that day is invalid and the day must be made up at a later time. All these things which we mentioned above are agree by all Islamic scholar nevertheless there are still more action in which many scholars are not agree.
